Kota Belud is the home of our famed Bajau Horsemen (Borneo cowboys). 0830hrs meet at hotel and transfer to Kota Belud or famously known by the locals as “Land of the Cow-boys of the East” is located about 70km northeast of Kota Kinabalu. It is one of Sabah’s most scenic and culturally rich district. A melting pot of cultures and customs with a blend of the Muslim Bajau community, and many tribes of the Kadazan-dusun, Iranun, Kota Belud played a significant role as the cultural hub of northern Borneo for many centuries. Witness the fascinating and colorful weekly market or bazaar called “Tamu” which means “Meeting Place”. Watch people confer and exchange gossips while selling their wares top at Tuaran town on the way back, which also has it "Tamu". |
